"Co-defendant of his girl-friend, Lo Ramphia. Both were arrested in November 2001, and wrongly convicted in 2003 of manufacturing and possessing ecstasy and sentenced to death for the manufacturing charge and 20 years in prison for possession. The defense of Aggett and Lo was that they only were temporarily staying below the apartment of a person who was manufacturing ecstasy. Their death sentences were commutted to life in prison. Aggett and Lo were both acquitted on appeal by Thailand's Supreme Court. Aggett was released on September 3, 2007, and he returned to England on September 11, 2007. Jody Aggett and Lo Ramphia were wrongly imprisoned for six years." |
