Summary of Case:

Wrongly convicted in January 2008 of two counts of sexually exploiting a minor who was on the soccer team coached by Jillian Anderson in 2006 and 2007. The 23-year-old Anderson was convicted after a bench trial based on the testimony of the girl. Anderson was sentenced to two concurrent five months terms of imprisonment, two years of probation, and 20 years of registering with Canada's sexual register. She was allowed to remain free on bail pending the outcome of her appeal. On February 18, 2009 a three-judge appeals court panel overturned her conviction.
