Delphine Bertrand falsely pled guilty to manslaughter in April 1944 to conceal that she was having sex with a man in a house at the same time, unbeknowst to her the victim was killed by two other men. After the killers confessed, the indictment against her was dismissed in July 1946. She falsely confessed to murder because she thought it was better than having her sex life publicly revealed during a trial. No compensation was awarded for 2 years of wrongful imprisonment. |
