Summary of Case:	"Mark Dallagher was wrongly convicted in 1998 of murdering a 94 year old woman in May 1996. The woman was smothered, and Dallagher was convicted on the basis of expert testimony that his "earprint" matched that of the murderer. However he was granted a new trial, and in June 2003, after 10 days of the retrial, the prosecution moved to stop the trial pending further review of the case, and Dallagher was released on bail. On January 22, 2004 the charges against Dallagher were formally dropped after his DNA was excluded from that of the murderer, whose DNA was recovered from the earprint impression."
