Wrongly convicted in 1989 of murdering his wife Brenda in Newfoundland. Dalton's conviction was overturned on appeal 8-1/2 years later. Dalton was released on bail from prison pending a new trial. Dalton was acquitted in 2000 after a retrial. Forensic evidence indicated his wife Brenda had not been strangled. Rather, she choked to death on her own food.
