Summary of Case:	"Gair, Stuart was wrongly convicted on August 30, 1999 of a knife murder in April 1989 in Scotland. Gair submitted an application to Scotland's Criminal Case Review Commission (SCCRC) for review of his conviction as a miscarriage of justice. Gair's case was referred by the SCCRC on November 11, 1999 to Scotland's Court of Appeal. Gair was released on parole in 2000 after almost 12 years of imprisonment. Gair's conviction was quashed by Scotland's Court of Appeals on July 11, 2006. Stuart Gair died in October 2007. In November 2007 it was announced that Gair's 19-year-old daughter would receive his £1million (about $2 million) compensation payout."
