Summary of Case:	"Darrell Houston was wrongly convicted in 1992 of the murder in 1991 of Said Ali, at a deli he owned in Cleveland, Ohio. Houston was sentenced to life in prison. After a new investigation of Houston's case uncovered that the only eyewitness said Houston was not the killer, no physical evidence tied Houston to the crime and blood on Houston's coat did not match the victim's blood, Houston's motion for a new trial was granted in 2007 and the prosecutors dismissed the charges. Houston was released in November 2010. A Cuyahoga County Common Pleas court judge ruled that Houston was wrongly convicted, which the prosecution appealed. On September 27, 2012 the Ohio Eighth Appellate District Court of Appeals ruled that "a preponderance of the evidence showed Houston was innocent." On November 27, 2013 the Ohio Court of Claims approved compensation of $718,783.14."
