Summary of Case:

Codefendant of Sipho Bholo and Boy Ndweni. Wrongly convicted of 1993 killings in Eikenhof by the perjured testimony of a police informant promised R250,000 by Brixton murder and robbery unit chief Charlie Landman, and the false confessions of the three codefendants Landman extracted by torturing the men. The prosecution's purchase of perjured testimony was disclosed in an affidavit by the informant, Abel Korope in 1997.

Perjured testimony of a police informant purchased by the prosecution for R250,000, and the false confessions of the three codefendants under torture administered by policeman Landman, who also initiated the payoff to the informant.

Innocence Proved By:

Confession by the informant in an affidavit that he had fabricated his testimony against Bholo, Ndweni and Gavin in exchange for the promise of R250,000, and members of the Azanaian People's Liberation Army confessed to the murders in their application for amnesty before South Africa's truth commission.
