Summary of Case:

One of the Bridgewater Four. Patrick Malloy's false confession induced and pressured by the police trickery of fabricating a false confession by Vincent Hickey led to the convictions of all four men. Patrick Malloy died in prison in 1981. The police crime unit that obtained P. Malloy's false confession was found to have planted evidence and fabricated confessions in at least 23 cases during the 1980s. None of the 10 officers involved in the evidence fabrication were prosecuted.

False confession of Patrick Malloy that implicated all four men. The police forged Vincent Hickey's signature on a confession he didn't make, and used that to pressure Malloy to falsely confess to a murder none of the four men had anything to do with.
