Summary of Case:

Wrongly convicted in 1995 of delivery of a controlled substance (drugs) and sentenced to 40 years in prison. Bragg's conviction was based on perjury by a policeman who also falsified documents. Conviction overturned in December 2000 by a federal magistrate who ruled that the agents testimony was questionable. Rodney Bragg was released after almost five years of wrongful imprisonment. Bragg filed a claim for $1.5 million in compensation in June 2006.
