Summary of Case:

Man wrongly convicted of breaking and entering based on an erroneous DNA match of his DNA was contaminated with that found at a crime scene. The man was sentenced to a nine month suspended sentence. The error was discovered by New South Wales' crime laboratory after DNA samples from dead people - taken at autopsies - was uploaded to the cold-case DNA database. His conviction was overturned on October 2, 2009 by the Wyong Local Court.
