Summary of Case:	"Australia's first wrongly convicted person exonerated by DNA evidence after being falsely convicted of rape. Spent 10 months wrongly imprisoned. "In Queensland, Australia, the results of postconviction DNA testing persuaded the Court of Appeal to overturn the conviction of Frank Alan Button for the 1999 rape of a 13-year old girl. Prior to his trial tests were not performed on the sheets from the bed where the rape occurred. Authorities reasoned that because Button had been staying at with the girl's family, it was likely that his DNA would be present. The postconviction DNA testing not only did not match Button, but it also identified another suspect. Prosecutors have not yet charged the other suspect."
