Summary
of Case:
|
"Executed on March 3, 2000, even though two Alabama Supreme Court Justices voted in favor of a last minute motion for a stay of Freddie's execution because the facts supported his innocence. Seven AL Sup. Ct. Justtices voted against the stay. Justice Johnstone wrote in his dissent, "Whether Wright is electrocuted or injected seems insignificant compared to the likelihood that we are sending an innocent man to his death. We should stay this execution briefly and take another look at this case under Rule 39(k)." Supreme Court of Alabama, RE: 03/02/2000 EX PARTS WRIGHT." |
