Summary of Case:

"Johnathan Adams was a 13 year-old boy wrongly convicted on August 11, 2005 of murdering 8-year-old Amy Yates in Carrollton, Georgia. Adams pled no contest based on his confession that he made after four hours of interrogation with his parents or a lawyer present. Prosecuted as a minor, he was sentenced to not less than 12 months in a residential psychiatric treatment facility. In February 2006 18-year-old Christopher Gossett contacted authorities and confessed to murdering Amy. Based on the new evidence, on April 4, 2006 Adams' conviction was vacated and he was released. Gossett was indicted in November 2006 for involuntary manslaughter, but the indictment was dismissed on February 26, 2010 after authorities admited his confession didn't match the facts of Amy's murder."
