Rizwan Ahmed was wrongly convicted of conspiracy to import heroin. In 2001 Ahmed submitted an application to the Criminal Case Review Commission (CCRC) for review of his conviction as a miscarriage of justice. Ahmed's case was referred by the CCRC on 7/10/2006 to the England and Wales Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). On 7/18/2007 the appeals court quashed Rizwan Ahmed's convictions.
