"Ricardo Aldape Guerra was wrongly convicted of murder based on the prosecution using six unreliable witnesses. After 15 years imprisonment, 14 on Texas' death row, a federal judge overturned Guerra's conviction and he was released in April 1997. The judge described as "outrageous" the police misconduct in Guerra's case. He immediately returned to Mexico, where only 128 days after his release he was hit by a car and killed."
