Summary
of Case:
|
"Co-defendant of Jennifer Wilcox. Both were wrongly convicted of child abuse. The Ohio Observer newspaper obtained prosecution documents favorable to Wilcox and Aldridge through a public records request that hadn't been disclosed to them prior to their trial. The three brothers involved recanted their testimony about the couple abusing them, saying they were coerced to give it by the prosecution. "All three of the brothers said they didn't even know who Wilcox and Aldridge were until they saw them in the courtroom, and they were told where to point when asked to identify them." Wilcox and Aldridge's convictions were vacated on March 8, 1996 after 11 years of imprisonment. Jenny Wilcox was offered $300,000 by the state of Ohio if she would hold the state harmless from other damages." |
