Summary of Case:

"James Andrews was wrongly convicted on March 8, 1985 in Chicago for the April 22, 1983 murder of 20-year-old Floyd Jenkins. Andrews conviction was largely based on his confession that he recanted as coerced by torture by his Chicago PD interrogators. James Andrews filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the City of Chicago that he settled in March 2013 for $1.8 million in compensation. Andrews was also wrongly convicted convicted on April 10,1987 in Chicago for the March 30, 1983 murder of 19-year-old Kevin Lewis. Andrews codefendant in that case was David Fauntleroy. The convictions of both were largely based on their confessions extracted by police torture."
