Summary of Case:

"Miguel Arroyo was wrongly convicted in 1965 in Kings County, New York of manslaughter in the death of a boy during a street fight based on eyewitness testimony. After his conviction Arroyo's lawyer produced a number of eyewitnesses who testified they saw someone else kill the boy, and the witnesses against Arroyo recanted their testimony. The judge vacated Arroyo's conviction and he was released and the indictment against him was dismissed. In 1966 another man was arrested and indicted for the murder."
