Summary of Case:

Hassan Assali was wrongly convicted of making an explosive device. In 1998 Assali submitted an application to the Criminal Case Review Commission (CCRC) for review of his conviction as a miscarriage of justice. Assali's case was referred by the CCRC on 2/11/2003 to the England and Wales Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). On 7/19/2005 the appeals court quashed Hassan Assali's convictions.
