Summary of Case:

"Edward "Eddie" Baker was wrongly convicted in 1974 of the 1973 robbery and murder of a man in Philadelphia. In 1996 the main witness against Edward Baker at his trial admitted that he was the real killer and he also named the people involved in it with him. The investigation by Centurion Ministries corroborated the man's confession and in December 1999 Mr. Baker was released. However Philadelphia's prosecutors refused to admit their error and they didn't declare they wouldn't seek to retry Mr. Baker until Feb. 11, 2002, 28 years after his wrongful conviction. The prosecution agreed to dismissal of the charges in exchange for Baker agreeing not to seek compensation for his wrongful prosecution and imprisonment. The ineptitude of Baker's public defender is shown by the fact that proof of his innocence was overwhelming, including he had passed a police polygraph test and 12 alibi witnesses were prepared to testify in his defense.
