"Michael Ballard was wrongly convicted on August 21, 2017 of operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle on a public highway with improper plates in Suffolk County, New York. He was sentenced to pay a fine. Ballard appealed. On December 19, 2019 the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Term, Second Department reversed Ballard's convictions on the basis the prosecution introduced insufficient trial evidence to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The appeals court affirmed Ballard's convictions of of aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated (common law)."
