Summary of Case:	"Patricia Bass was charged in November 1993, and convicted in February 1995 of murdering her mother. Bass' mother's skull was fractured by being struck with between 30 and 40 blows in March 1992 at her home in Nottingham, England. The prosecution's case against Bass was entirely circumstantial becasue there was no direct evidence linking her to the crime. After being imprisoned for 21 months, her conviction was reversed in 1996 because the prosecution had misled the jury about crucial scientific evidence. Released on bail, she was convicted again in June 1997 and re-imprisoned. Her second conviction was reversed because there was no evidence she was guilty, and she was released on April 7, 1998 after being imprisoned for an additional 10 months."
