Summary of Case:	"John C. Bean was wrongly convicted of posing a fifteen year old girl for photographs with her breast exposed in violation of Massachusetts law. John Bean was taking a class at the Worcester Art Museum. With the permission of the girl's mother he took photographs of her in a public place with the girl's 17-year-old boyfriend and a friend of Bean's present. After his conviction by a bench (judge only) trial, he was sentenced to six months probation, and he was required to register as a sex offender. Bean appealed and on January 28, 2002 the Massachusetts Supreme Court vacated John Bean's conviction and ordered his acquittal on the basis the prosecution introduced insufficient evidence to support his conviction. The Court stated Bean "had no lascivious intent" and the pictures were "neither obscene nor pornographic.""
