Summary of Case:	"Jean-Pierre Bemba was wrongly convicted by the International Criminal Court in March 2018 for allegedly bribing witnesses. Bemba was sentenced to 1 year in prison and a fine of 300,000 Euros. On August 20, 2018 Bemba's bribery convictions were overturned on appeal. Jean-Pierre Bemba was also wrongly convicted by the International Criminal Court on March 21, 2016 of two counts of crimes against humanity and three counts of war crimes while he was a vice-president in the transitional government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo from July 17, 2003 to December 2006. Bemba was arrested on May 24, 2008 on an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court. After his conviction he was sentenced to 18 years in prison. On June 8, 2018 Bemba's convictions for crimes against humanity and war crimes were overturned on appeal."
