Summary of Case:	"Warren Blackwell was wrongly convicted in October 1999 of a sexual assault that occurred on New Years 1999. Blackwell was sentenced to three years imprisonment, but when he lost his appeal in 2002, the Court of Appeals increased his sentence to five years. In 2003 Blackwell submitted an application for post-conviction investigation of his case with the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC), based on new evidence that the woman wasn't a credible witness. She had made false sexual assault accusations previously, and had a history of inflicting injuries on herself. Blackwell's case was referred by the CCRC on 2/02/2006 to the England and Wales Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). On September 12, 2006 the appeals court quashed Warren Blackwell's convictions, based on the new evidence that the woman had lied about being sexually assaulted."
