Conviction overturned in December 2000 by a federal magistrate who ruled that the agents testimony was questionable. Rodney Bragg was released after almost five years of wrongful imprisonment. Bragg filed a claim for $1.5 million in compensation in June 2006. The Arkansas Claims Commission awarded Bragg $200,000 on August 10, 2006.
