Summary of Case:	"Simon Bragg was wrongly convicted in December 2012 of raping a woman in November 2011 that he met during a night out in Reigate, England. At the time of the incident Bragg was a National Health Service worker at the East Surrey Hospital. The woman testified they had consensual sex once, but when they had sex a second time Bragg's condom broke and he failed to stop when she asked him to. After his conviction by a jury based on his failure to stop, in February 2013 Judge Christopher Critchlow sentenced Bragg to three years in prison -- one year less than the minimum four year sentence -- due to "special factors" because it was "in no sense a classic case of rape." After Bragg had served his sentence he filed an appeal in November 2016. His conviction was overturned and a retrial ordered. On January 23, 2017 Simon Bragg was acquitted by a jury following his retrial during which the Crown Prosecution Service presented no evidence."
