Summary of Case:	"Jeremiah Brinson was wrongly convicted of first-degree robbery robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon in 1997 based on the testimony of one person. Brinson was convicted of robbing a person at knife-point and sentenced to 18 years in prison. In November 2008 the federal 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal granted his habeas corpus petition and overturned his conviction based on new evidence that Brinson's accuser was a virulent racist, and likely made up his testimony because Brinson is black. Brinson was released on bond in December 2008. On May 15, 2009 the charges were dismissed. Brinson was wrongly imprisoned for more than 11 years."
