Summary of Case:

"Joyce Ann Brown was wrongly convicted and sentenced to life for the 1980 murder and robbery of a Dallas, Texas storeowner. The prosecution's case was based on an eyewitnesses identification of her and a jailhouse informant's claim she confessed. Centurion Ministries was able to identify another woman who resembled Joyce Brown as the murderer, and that her conviction was based on the fabricated testimony of a "jailhouse" informant. Her story was the subject of a 60 Minutes segment in 1989. Based on the new evidence her conviction was overturned and she was released on November 3, 1989. She was wrongly imprisoned for 9 years 5 months and 24 days. In August 2009 it was announced that veteran actor Brian Dennehy would be the director of a movie about Brown's case, to be titled "Redemption." The movie is being produced and financed by Habourton Entertainment, a partnership of Centurion Ministries' founder James McCloskey, Joe Seldner and James Regan. Dennehy wrote the screenplay with Joe Seldner. The movie was scheduled to begin filming in the Spring of 2010."
