Summary of Case:	"John Bunn was wrongly convicted in 1992 of the murder of Rolando Neischer in the Crown Heights area of Kings County, New York in August 1991. New York Police Department Homicide Detective Louis Scarcella investigated Neischer's murder. Bunn was 14 at the time of his conviction by a jury. Bunn insisted he was innocent. Bunn was released on parole in 2009. After evidence was uncovered that Scarcella was involved in framing innocent people, Bunn filed a petition for a new trial. After an evidentiary hearing, in November 2016 Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Shawn'Dya Simpson granted Bunn's petition, overturning his conviction and ordering a new trial. The Kings County District Attorney's Office decided not to retry Bunn. On May 15, 2018 a motion by the DA's Office to dismiss the charges was granted. However, the DA's Office did not acknowledge Bunn was innocent. During the hearing, the 41-year-old Bunn was angry and said: "They won't admit I'm an innocent man. Ya'll had the wrong man this whole time and you have someone out there running free and ya'll had no right to do what you did.""
