"A unnamed man was wrongly convicted in 2008 of breaking and entering in Wyong, New South Wales, Australia. His conviction was based on DNA evidence that linked him to the crime. He was given a nine month suspended sentence. After his conviction it was discovered that the DNA evidence was erroneous and unreliable because his DNA was contaminated with that found at a crime scene. The error was discovered by the New South Wales' crime laboratory after DNA samples from dead people - taken at autopsies - was uploaded to the cold-case DNA database. His conviction was overturned on October 2, 2009 by the Wyong Local Court."
