Summary of Case:	"Michael Campbell was and Irishman wrongly convicted in October 2011 of attempting to buy weaponsand explosives for the Real IRA in 2008 in Vilnius, Lithuania. He was sentenced to serve 12 years in prison. On October 2, 2013 Campbell's conviction was overturned and he was acquitted by the Vilnius Appeals Court which stated: ‘There was no direct evidence proving Campbell’s ties with Real IRA. He was never arrested by British or Irish authorities for terrorism-linked activities. The prosecution did not provide enough evidence to deny statements that Campbell’s actions were provoked by undercover MI5 agents. Campbell was immediately released and transported to Ireland's Embassy in Vilnius to await his return to Ireland."
