Summary of Case:

"Angela Cannings was wrongly convicted of murdering two of her children who actually died of natural causes. Sir Roy Meadows' erroneous testimony was persuasive to convince the jury to convict Angela Cannings, just as it had been in Sally Clark's case. The Court of Appeals quashed Cannings' convictions on December 9, 2003 based on new medical evidence a crime had not been committed. Settled her compensation claim against the British government for six figures in June 2008. The exact amount was not publicly disclosed."
