Summary of Case:	"Marcus John Carmona was wrongly convicted of possession of a controlled substance in Tarrant County, Texas. Marcus Carmona was sentenced to five years imprisonment. Carmona pled guilty to minimize his sentence from a conviction after a trial. Post conviction testing of the substance in Carmona's possession showed it was not a controlled substance. Carmona filed a writ of habeas corpus to withdraw her plea as unknowing and involuntary based on the new evidence. The State did not oppose Carmona's write, and the trial court concluded that his plea was unknowing and involuntary. On December 14, 2016 Carmona filed a writ of habeas corpus with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. On February 1, 2017 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Carmona's habeas petition."
