"Jacob Cash was wrongly convicted in 1998 of second-degree murder for shooting a hitchhiker in 1997 who commandeered his car and started to drive the car with Jacob Cash hanging out the window while trying to get out. The jury rejected Cash's defense that he acted in self-defense. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison. Cash's motion for a new trial was granted, and on June 19, 2008 he was acquitted by a jury after a retrial. Cash was wrongly imprisoned for almost 11 years."
