"Michael Chaplin was wrongly convicted of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl on September 7, 2008. The 24-year-old Michael Chaplin's conviction was based on many text messages and known contacts he had had with the minor. Michael Chaplin was sentenced to one year in prison. While his appeal was pending, the mother of his girlfriend came forward and said that he was at her home on the night of the alleged incident with with the minor. Based on the new evidence his conviction was overturned in February 2009 and he was acquitted of the charge."
