Summary of Case:

"Vincent Chen was wrongly convicted in April 2003 of defrauding two people out of $20.5 million, one out of $10 million and the other out of $10.5 million, that had been entrusted with Chen to invest. Vincent Chen, a prominent Jamaican lawyer, was fined more than $2 million. In June 2008 the Jamaican Appeals Court quashed Chen's conviction, ruling that the case was a civil case, not a criminal case, because there was evidence that Chen intentionally tried to cause the lose of any investor money. The judges also said that the two complainants made "unwise" investments."
