Summary of Case:	"Alfred Chestnut, Ransom Watkins and Andrew Stewart Jr. were codefendants wrongly convicted in 1984 of murder in Baltimore, Maryland. The three were juveniles when arrested on Halloween 1983 for the shooting death of 14-year-old DeWitt Duckett while he was walking to class at his Baltimore High School. At the time it was the first fatal shooting of a student in a Baltimore public school. In March 2020 the three-member Maryland Board of Public Works approved payment of about $2.9 million each to Chestnut, Watkins, and Stewart under the state's wrongful imprisonment compensation statute. In June 2020 the Board approved final payment schedules for the money."
