Lee Clegg was wrongly convicted of murder in 1993 while he was on duty as a British paratrooper in Northern Ireland. Clegg's conviction was quashed by the Court of Appeals in 2000. He had been released from prison on parole in 1997 after serving four years in prison. In May 2006 Clegg was informed that his claim for compensation had been denied.
