Summary of Case:	"Eric Clemmons was wrongly convicted in 1987 of murder in the stabbing death of another prisoner. Clemmons was sentenced to death. At his trial several prisoners said that Clemmons was innocent and the actual killer was another prisoner who died three months after the murder. A prison guard claimed the killer was Clemmons and he was convicted. Handling his own appeal, Clemmons discovered an internal Missouri Department of Corrections memorandum prepared immediately after the murder that the killer was the man identified at trial by the inmate witnesses as the killer. Based on that evidence concealed by the prosecution he was granted a new trial by the federal 8th Circuit Ct. of Appeals, after his appeal was denied by the Missouri state courts. Clemmons was acquitted by a jury after his retrial."
