"Charles Connolly was George Kelly's co-defendant. The two were wrongly convicted of being involved in a bungled robbery that resulted in the murder of a theater manager in Liverpool, England. Connolly was convicted of robbery and conspiracy and sentenced to 10 years in prison George Kelly was convicted of murder, sentenced to death, and executed. Fifty-three years after their convictions, Connolly and Kelly were exonerated by the Court of Appeals on June 10, 2003, after referral by the Criminal Cases Review Commission." |
