Summary of Case:	"Matthew Copping was wrongly convicted in May 2007 of assaulting a 15-year-old student in September 2006 with a history of unruliness and dishonesty, based on the testimony of the student that he had suffered injuries at the hands of the teacher. He was discharged from his job as a teacher. In November 2007 the Snaresbrook Crown Court quashed Copping's conviction, describing his accuser's testimony as "wholly unreliable." Judge Nicholas Riddell said, "We are surprised that the Crown Prosecution Service considered it was in the public interest that this man should be prosecuted.
