Summary of Case:	"Hilda Lopez de la Cruz was wrongly convicted in April 2013 of having an abortion in 2009 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Abortions are illegal in San Luis Potosi. Her conviction was largely based on Hilda's alleged "confession" obtained from her by doctors treating her when she was in a hospital and in shock from hemoraging blood. She had went to the hospital with stomach pains when she was six months pregnant. She was sentenced to one year in prison. She appaled her conviction and in August 2013 the state Supreme Court overturned her conviction on the basis her alleged "confession" was obtained under duress and unreliable, and without it there is insufficient evidence to support her conviction."
