Summary of Case:

Samuel Curbow was codefendant of J.C. Strickland. Curbow was wrongly convicted of robbery in January 1939 by a jury based on the erroneous eyewitness identification of the two men as the robbers. No lawyer was appointed to either man. Pardoned by Texas Governor Lee O'Daniels in April 1940 after the actual culprits confessed. No compensation was paid.
