Summary of Case:	"Wrongly convicted in 2001 of being a member of a gang of youths that robbed at gunpoint a police department employee in her home of $6,232 in cash, based on the eyewitness identification of the victim. There was no physical evidence or corroborating testimony linking Daniels to the robbery. The 14-year-old Erick Daniels was tried as an adult and sentenced to 10 to 14 years in prison. A reinvestigation of the case provided evidence that Daniels trial attorney didn't adequately investigate his case, so a motion for a new trial based on ineffective assistance of counsel was filed in 2007. On September 19, 2008 his conviction was overturned and released by a judge who declared him innocent of the crime, and their was no reasonable basis to believe he could be convicted after a retrial."
