"Patrice Dasha Davis was wrongly convicted of misdemeanor possession of less than one gram of heroin in Harris County, Texas. Patrice Davis pled guilty and was sentenced to 90 days in jail. After Davis' conviction the substance was tested by the crime lab and found that the substance seized from her was not an illegal substance. Davis filed a writ of habeas corpus based on the new evidence, which was unopposed by the State and the habeas court recommended her writ be granted. On May 3, 2017 the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals granted Davis' writ." |
