Summary of Case:

"Glenn Davis Jr., Larry Delmore Jr. and Terrence Meyers s were co-defendants wrongly convicted in 1993 for 1992 murder of Samuel George in Westwego, Louisiana. The prosecution's key evidence was a single eyewitness who claimed ot have seen the three men in the car that drove by and from which the shots came that killed Mr. George. The three were sentenced to life in prison without parole. A post-conviction investigation discovered that the prosecution failed to disclose evidence that discredited the reliability of the eyewitness testimony and evidence that a violent drug dealer had actually committed the crime. The investigation also discovered that the three co-defendant's lawyer was simultaneously representing the drug dealer who likely commited the crime. Davis filed a post-conviction petition based on the new evidence and during an evidentiary hearing the drug dealer's former girlfriend testified he committed the crime. The judge granted Davis' petitition and reversed his conviction on February 16, 2007. Glenn Davis was released in April 2007. Delmore and Meyers then filed post-conviction petitions based on the same new evidence. Their convictions were reversed on August 19, 2008 and Meyers was released on September 24, 2008 and Larry Delmore was released on September 29, 2008. On September 24, 2010 the Jefferson Parish DA's Office announced it wouldn't retry the three. In 2012 the State of Louisiana awarded compensation to all three defendants: Davis, $265,360.04; Delmore, $250,000; and, Meyers, $250,000."
