"Louis DeMore joked to police on street that he fit the description of a killer and he was arrested in St. Louis. In May 1934, DeMore falsely confessed and pled guilty to the murder to escape a death sentence police threatened him with if he would be convicted after a trial. He was exonerated when the real killer was captured and confessed. Missouri Governor Guy Park pardoned DeMore in Oct. 1934." |
