Summary of Case: |
"Wiliam Ding Chun Fong was wrongly convicted of molesting two boys who were students of his. Fong's more than 80 day trial over a nine month period in 2007 was the longest molestation trial in Singapore's history, and his convictions were solely based on the testimony of the boys. Ding was sentenced to 12 months in prison. On appeal Ding's conviction was overturned on April 30, 2008 by Singapore's High Court because the testimony of the alleged victims was considered to be unreliable and their were irreconcilable inconsistencies in the prosecution's case." |
